Summer Programs 2016

After a three week visit back home, I left for Montana once again! This time I was coming back not as a student but as staff. Nervous to start this next adventure, I jumped right in preparing for the students arrival. June 27th came and so did the students! I was able to teach dance classes, choreograph two dances for outreach, and mentor three girls weekly. It was incredible to see the students transformed by the truths from the Bible. The Summer of Dance students were also taught dance technique and how to use their talents for evangelism. Finally, lecture came to an end and outreach phase began!

  Taiwan!

On July 16th, we began our journey to Taiwan! This outreach was much different than Ukraine. Instead of already having a passion for the country, loving the food, adoring the language, and being a student, Taiwan was a new venture! This time I was the staff, it was "interesting" food, I had no idea what the culture would be like, and only brief exposure to the language. I learned an infinite amount during this outreach and I wouldn't trade it for anything. God revealed how the students were my outreach. God also gave me a love for the country of Taiwan. As I was there, I saw how lost the Taiwanese people were and just how much they needed a Saviour. I saw our Summer Program students lay down their own comforts to bring the greatest comfort there is, the love of Jesus Christ. Time after time, we saw God pull through. With only a 2% Christian population, there is such a desperate need for missionaries in Taiwan. One week my team and I traveled to a southern city called Tainan. There we led a week long camp at an all girl's school. We taught dance, drums, vocals, and guitar, but most importantly we were able to share the true hope of Jesus! We came into contact with girls who were buddhist, atheist, and some who haven't even heard of the name of Jesus before! The last day of camp we had a time of worship and ministry. The students were shy and didn't come to receive prayer. So, instead our summer program students went to them and gave them words and prayed for them. It's just like God, even when we won't go to Him He meets us right where we are. Many students from that camp received Jesus that day. There are so many countries out there that need to hear the Gospel and experience God's love. It was because of your prayers and support that those girls and many others my team encountered were able to hear the Gospel. Please, keep Taiwan in your prayers. Thank you!!!
